I am truly blessed to have the opportunity to > attend Howard University and benefit from all that it has to offer. > > Your generous support during my freshman year was instrumental in affording > me the opportunity to attend Howard University and I wanted to take the time > to share with you how I have been involved on campus and what I have > accomplished during the beginning of my journey here at Howard University. > As a bright eyed freshman in August of 2013, I quickly fell in love with > Howard University and took advantage of all that it had to offer while > achieving a 4.0 GPA in my first semester and finishing out the year with a > 3.9 GPA. As a member of Howard University’s Division 1 Women’s Lacrosse > team, I used my position on the team as a platform to represent Howard > University, and specifically Baltimore, throughout the broader community. I > also became a member of the Howard University Baltimore Club. As a member > of Howard University’s Baltimore Club and an active member on the Public > Relations Committee and community service volunteer, I humbly represented my > hometown. I am also excited to share that on Tuesday May 14, 2014, I was > elected as the Public Relations Chairperson for the Howard University > Baltimore Club. > > I competed in Howard University’s Mr. & Miss Freshman Pageant with over 200 > other freshmen and was humbled and honored to be selected as a finalist. In > April, I was selected to be a member of the Howard University Campus Pals, > planning to assist and welcome incoming Howard University students become > acclimated to campus and make Howard home. There were over 400 students who > applied to become Campus Pals and only 24 were selected. I am also a member > of the Howard University chapter of the National Congress of Negro Women. > As a member of the National Congress of Negro Women and an active volunteer > throughout the community, I believe it is important to give back to the > community and live life fully understanding “to whom much is given much is > required”. I am a member of the Howard University Caribbean Student > Association.
